Inflation Details

20-inch Balloon Inflation

Congrats, you’ve purchased a 20-inch clear confetti balloon from Flourish. Every balloon is separately packaged in airtight bags with moisture packs. Do not open the balloon until you’re ready to inflate it.

1. After opening the balloon, stuff the confetti or feathers inside and fill it with helium as soon as possible. Don’t let the balloon dry out by waiting too long to inflate.

2. When filling with helium, keep inflating until the bubble is round and perfectly smooth. The balloon will stretch when inflating, it will reach 20 inches in diameter (side-to-side). If the balloon does not float when the tail is attached, then you have not put enough helium inside.

3. Here comes the fun part. To tie, hold the neck of the balloon and twist several times. Then wrap the thin balloon provided five times around the neck of the balloon in each direction. Double knot. Wrap once more. Double knot again.

4. Attach the string to the balloon. Tie a bow under the balloon with the thicker ribbon and make it nice and tidy. A messy balloon is a sad balloon, so cut off the excess latex.

5. Shake the balloon to separate the confetti or fluff your feathers. Maybe turn on some music for this part. Go nuts!

6. To add your bespoke decal, peel off the backing of the decal and place the sticky part gently onto the balloon as centered as possible. Trace over the design with your finger to make sure it adheres properly to the balloon. Listen up! Make sure you touch every part of the design/lettering. Gently pull the paper away and you will be left with a crisp and beautiful bespoke design.

7. Tassels: First hold the middle of your tassels and give them a good shake up and down. (Don’t be afraid, they can handle it.) If you desire them to be really puffy, crunch them like we did to our hair in middle school.

8. Take the small tail that is left on your ribbon tied to the balloon and tie that piece to the middle of your tassels.

9. Let it float! Enjoy your very own Flourish balloon.

Giant Balloon Inflation

Before you blow up your giant balloon, we strongly recommend you wait until a time closest to your event to ensure maximum balloon float time and perkiness. Here are the steps for inflating your balloon. Get excited.

1. Tie your ribbon on to the weight so your ready once the balloon is inflated.

2. Measure a space that is 27 inches (a space between something sturdy like two chairs works well). Important: Although our giant balloons can blow up to three feet in diameter, we recommend inflating to only 27 inches to ensure that your balloon can fit through doorways and travel with you beyond your celebration.

3. Science lesson: if you have purchased a confetti balloon, you must add air into the balloon before adding the helium so that the confetti sticks to the sides of the balloon. Fill with air using a hand pump or electric pump about 20 percent of the way and then shake balloon creating static to make the confetti stick.

4. Fill the rest of the way with helium until the balloon reaches 27 inches from side to side.

5. Tie the string to the balloon.

6. To add your bespoke decal, peel off the backing of the decal. Place the decal gently on to the balloon as centered as possible. Trace over the design with your finger to make sure it adheres properly to the balloon. Listen up! Make sure you gently press the entire surface of the design/lettering. Gently pull the paper away and you will be left with your bespoke design.
